In Loving Memory

Shaw, Anne “Nana” (nee King)

February 26, 1941 - November 3, 2025

Anne K. Shaw (“Nana”), age 84, passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at her daughter’s home in St. Louis, Missouri, surrounded by love. Born in Marietta, Georgia, Anne
spent most of her life in Cobb County before moving to Eatonton, Georgia in the mid-1990s. In her later years, she relocated to Southern Illinois to be close to her daughter and family, where she continued to make warm connections with everyone she met.

Anne worked for Standard Fixture Company in Atlanta as a dedicated bookkeeper for 30 years. She later joined Putnam General Hospital as an Administrative Assistant, a role she truly loved. She cherished the friendships she formed there and spoke often of the people she worked alongside.

Anne embraced life with a spirit of adventure and joy. She loved traveling across the country by motor home, wintering in Melbourne, Florida, and being with her grandchildren whenever she was home. She will be fondly remembered for her passion for working in her yard, her bright laughter, and the way she brought joy to her friends and family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ruby Hemphill King and Kenneth King; her brothers, Robert (Janet) King and Harold King; and by Dave Clackum and Harold Shaw.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (John) Boget; her sister, Linda (Ed) Stickler; her grandchildren, Mackenzie Boget, Clair Boget, and Kathe (Thomas) Vagasky; and her great-grandchildren Haddie, Carson Vagasky, and newborn PJ Thomas. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren Rita (Patrick) McLafferty and Adam (Jennifer) Boget, along with their children. Anne leaves behind her beloved niece Angel (Michael) Shaw, several nephews, and many dear friends made throughout her life. A special mention is given to her lifelong friends from the Sprayberry High School Class of 1959, whose bond she treasured.

Raised in the Methodist Church and later a member of a Presbyterian Church, Anne lived her faith quietly and sincerely. She carried a warm and welcoming light wherever she went, always forming meaningful friendships along the way.

A celebration of her life will be held at a later date in Cobb County, Georgia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in her honor.

Condolences
