Margaret Mary Maurer (nee Morgan)
Margaret (Marge) was born March 24, 1933 to Floyd and Bertha (Ferenbach) Morgan in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was the oldest of eleven children.
Margaret was the loving wife of John (Mick) Anthony Maurer Jr. for over 65 years and loving mother of Dr. Michael (Mick) Maurer, John A. III (Pam) Maurer, Laura (Jim) Didion, Teri (Robbie) Wilson, Lynn (the late Roger) Schallom, Janet (Nino) Mascalco; loving Grandma of 12 and Great Grandma of 20: John A. Maurer IV and Kasey Barton (Desmond and Zora), Dr. Erin and Jimmy Quattromani (Eleanor and Jane), Michael and Christin Maurer (Presley and Collins), Julie and Brandt Stiles (Clayton and Josephine), Mark and Rachel Didion (Sloane and Sophia), Dr. Lisa and Mike Johnston (Gwendolyn and Cora), Stevie Wilson, Kacey and Ben Sumada (Josie and Marlie), Danie and Lieutenant Colonel Mike Herbst (Katherine and Rosemary), Megan and Tim Godfrey (Peter and Jacob), David and Alexis Schallom (Charlotte and Jackson), Maria Mascalco; a dear sister-in-law, aunt, cousin and friend.
Margaret lived 92 wonderful years always caring for children from siblings to nieces, nephews, and all her children, grands and great grands. She enjoyed baking, cooking, sewing, stitching, making ceramics and sharing fun times with family and friends. She was a graduate of Rosati Kain high school and stayed close with those friends throughout her life. She taught one year of grade school before starting a family. After the children were all in school, she worked as the office manager for Ancel Manufacturing Machine Shop for 20 years. She then cared for grandchildren for the next 8 years.
Visitation and funeral mass on Monday, December 29 at 9am and 10am respectively at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 4556 Telegraph Road, St. Louis, MO Interment will be later in the week at Jefferson Barracks Cemetery. KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY SERVICE.
