Celebrating the Life of Margaret Ann Doak
August 5, 1928 – May 14, 2026
Margaret passed away peacefully on May 14, 2026. Raised on a farm near the Big River in Byrnesville, Missouri she remained a farm girl at heart throughout her long and beautiful life.
Margaret was a co-owner of Marty’s Model Railroad with her late husband, Lionel Doak, turning the Affton business into a place of connection and friendships. To Diane and Donna, she was known as the mom who would always volunteer for events at their schools. To her granddaughters, Kayla and Serena Boschert, she was “Uma”—their biggest fan and favorite audience. Nothing delighted her more than spending time with them and witnessing their silly antics, which would unfailingly spark her contagious and uncontrollable laugh.
She is now reunited with her husband, Lionel Doak; her mother, Melba Schlosser; and her Uncle Bud and Aunt LaVerne Schlosser. Her spirit lives on in the beauty of the country and the laughter that will forever echo in the hearts of her daughters, Donna Boschert (Lincoln Boschert) and Diane Merkle (Scott Merkle); her granddaughters, Kayla Boschert (fiancé, Dalton Talley) and Serena Boschert; and the many friends who loved her.
