James Glasscock, 71 a beloved brother, father and friend, passed away with his brothers by his side on August 13, 2026. Born on August 12, 1955.
Jim treasured his quiet time doing ceramics, painting, and extreme love of reading books. James was preceded in death by his treasured parents, Eugene and Providenza (Pretty) Glasscock. He is survived by his daughter Dawn and brothers Rich (Pat), Gene (Barb deceased), Gary, Bob (Tina deceased), Kevin (Cherie) and Dawns mother Peggy (deceased), Billie Glasscock (Deceased) and Carolyn. James would love to thank those at Bria Nursing home (Pam) and the staff at Memorial East ICU who gave him valuable last days with his family. Those at Immaculate Conception Church who stopped and visited him at Bria, bringing a smile to his face and making his day!
A mass of remembrance will be celebrated on September 11, 2026, at Immaculate Conception Church, 411 Palmer Rd., Columbia IL 62236. Visitation for family and friends will begin at 9:30 with Mass at 10:30, reception to follow in Garden level of the church. Donations can be made to the Knights of Columbus #6165 of Immaculate Conception.
