Wednesday December 12, 2018 at age 100.
Ann Patricia Kohnen of St. Louis, Missouri, was born on St. Patrick’s Day 100 years ago to Mariano and Filippa (Gerace) Catalano from Castelvetrano, Sicily. She died peacefully at Friendship Village in Sunset Hills on December 12, 2018. Ann was the wife of the late Bernard J. Kohnen, and mother of Jim Kohnen (Judy), Mike Kohnen (Kim), Mary Ann (John) Hunzeker, Leonard Kohnen (Teri), and Terry (Keith) Travis. She was a grandmother to 13, great-grandma Ann to 14 more, and very lovingly referred to by many in the family as Aunt Nini.
Ann was an active member of St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church since it began in 1959 and proudly served for a short time on the Federal Grand Jury. She loved playing cards, especially Bridge, was always considered “the life of the party,” and never met a stranger. The biggest tribute to her life is that all who knew her felt her love and loved her.
Services: Visitation at St. Simon the Apostle Catholic Church, Friday December 28, 10:00 AM until funeral mass at 11:00 AM. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. A service of KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL.
