Kasper, S.S.N.D., Sister Anthony Marie, 96, Baptized into the Hope of Christ’s Resurrection on Monday, February 17, 2025. Beloved cousin, relative, friend, classmate, Sister in Religious Life, and S.S.N.D. Associate. Sister Anthony Marie Kasper was born in St. Louis and professed first vows there in 1949. Sister Anthony Marie then taught at St. Joseph School in East St. Louis, Illinois (1949-50); Sacred Heart School in DuQuoin, Illinois (1950-53); and St. Peter School, St. Charles, Missouri (1953-61). She earned a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from the former Notre Dame College, St. Louis in 1957. She then taught intermediate students at St. Luke School, Belleville, Illinois (1961-67). Sister Anthony Marie earned a Master of education from Saint Louis University, St. Louis in 1963. In 1967, she served as an administrator and junior high school teacher at St. Anthony School, Sullivan, Missouri, until 1973. She taught at St. Francis Borgia School, Washington, Missouri (1973-82), and St. Stephen, Caseyville, Illinois (1982-84). She then served at Our Lady of Sorrows, St. Louis where she ministered for over 40 years, first teaching (1984-2004) and then also serving as a parish visitor (1997-2020). Sister Anthony Marie resided at the Veronica House at The Sarah Community in Bridgeton, Missouri, until her passing.
Services: Memorial Prayer Service will be held at the Sarah Community, 12284 DePaul Drive, Bridgeton, Mo 63044, on Thursday March 6th from 2:30-3:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Friday March 7th at Theresa Center Chapel, 320 East Ripa Ave., St. Louis, MO 63125.
