Basler, George F. Sr. Captain (Ret.) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church Thursday, September 1, 2022. Beloved husband of Yulanda M. Basler (nee Hook) dear father of George F., Jr., (Trish) and Chris (Carol) Basler; loving grandfather of Bethany (Drew) Scofield, Brandon (Jackie) Basler and Jack Basler; dearest great grandfather of Brayden, Jordyn, Lexi, Danny and the late Evelyn Basler; dear brother of Betty Brunkhorst and Jackie Michael; our dear brother-in-law, uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend.

Mr. Basler served in the U.S. Army attaining the rank of Sergeant. He was a City of St. Louis police officer, a Mehlville fireman and a member of the Kirkwood Police Dept. retiring as a Captain after 35 years of loyal service. He was a member of Knights of Columbus council # 11146 and Oakville Elks Lodge.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Tuesday, September 13, 12 p.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Alzheimer’s Association appreciated. Visitation Monday 4-7 p.m.

  7. I am sorry to hear that George died. I worked with him many years until his retirement at the Kirkwood Police department. When I joined the department in 1969, George was already there, and he helped me “learn the ropes” and lent me advice many times during my early period. My sincerest condolences to Lonnie and the Basler family. Bob Kosyan (retired 2012)
