In Loving Memory

Wollberg, Valerie

June 21, 1953 - April 26, 2026

Valerie (72), born June 21st, 1953, in Saint Louis, Missouri, was a loving mother to Joseph
Gallagher (Janet), Sean Gallagher (Stephanie) and Ashley Koseck (Jonathan) and adoring
grandma to 9 grandchildren. She was sister to Jack, Daniel and Je􀆯ery Wollberg, and
beloved daughter to Paul and Florence Wollberg.
Throughout the highlights of her life, she dedicated her heart to medical research and a life
of nursing. From working with dialysis to researching rare bone disease, she found her
calling in the hearts of her patients. She was published in multiple research papers and
made an immeasurable impact at Shriner’s Hospital for Children – St. Louis, MO.
Valerie enjoyed her work, cooking for others and found peace in gardening, Sunday
morning drives listening to acoustic sunrise and a hot McDonalds’ co􀆯ee. Above all she
loved her family and Val peacefully passed in the morning of Sunday April 26th 2026.
May she now be in comfort and peace forever.
In leu of plants or flowers please consider donating in Val’s name.

  3. Val had such a huge impact on my daughter Jordin who she stayed in contact with after retiring from Shriners. Her heart is pure and she left such an impact on her patients. We often talk about Val and how she was the face of Shriners and our true miracle. She is very missed. Prayers for her family.
