Mr Pierkarski was my teacher at McBride in the early 60’s. I really liked him as a teacher and a person. My condolences to his family.
Mr P was a great teacher. He demanded respect and certainly deserved it. One of my favorites. May he rest in peace.
Mr. Piekarski was my teacher at McBride. He got us engaged by having us track information about Bi-State busses regarding the general level of cleanliness and timeliness by bus # and report on our information in class. I last saw him about 15 years ago at Radio Rich Garage Band concert at the Sheldon. I was looking forward to attending his 90th birthday celebration at St. Stan’s on July 5, 2026. RIP Mr. Piekarski.
I do believe the celebration is still happening.
It is now going to be a celebration of life.
I was fortunate enough to have Mr. Piekarski as a teacher at McBride. He encouraged us to be socially aware and get involved. What I remember best is his elegant oratory regarding Looney Toons cartoons especially Bugs Bunny. He said they were the best because you didn’t have to think, just enjoy. He also gave me a nickname… Rest in peace with Jesus.
Stanly was my classmate at St. Augustine’s and at McBride. His family was from the old Polish neighborhood as was mine. He was a good, and smart young man whom I respected. Over the years, I tried to find a way to get in touch with him, but sadly, never could. My condolences to the family.
