In Loving Memory

Cooper, Betty L. (nee Johnson)

August 20, 1935 - December 31, 2024

Betty Lou Cooper 89 of O’Fallon, Missouri passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on New Year’s Eve. A day she always cherished celebrating with her family and friends.

Born on August 20, 1935 in Biggers, Arkansas she was the cherished daughter of the late Daily M. and Hattie L Johnson.

She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings Loyce Rogers, Daily Odean Johnson, Mona Baker and Col. Jesse L Johnson and loving husband Cline Cooper.

A small town girl with big dreams Betty moved to the city of St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 17. With her sister and partner in crime Mona Lee. Together they embraced the excitement of city life setting the stage for Betty’s remarkable journey. Just a few years later she met the love of her life Cline Cooper and the two began a beautiful love story, marrying September 17, 1955.

She was a proud and loving mother to her two daughters-Diana Isch (Robert) of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Debora Jost (Michael) of O’Fallon, Missouri.

Betty adored her five grandchildren Amy Shadden, April Baron, Alicia Shepard, Richard Palo and Stefanie Isch. She also found immense joy being a great-grandmother to 12, amazing great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandmother to 3.

Betty was a beloved step-Grandmother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt to many nieces and nephews and dear friend to so many. Her role as a wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend were central to her life and she filled each with love warmth and generosity.

Betty was known for her impeccable style and timeless grace. Always dressed to the nines her hair perfectly styled and her makeup flawless. She exuded elegance in every aspect of her life

She had a passion for shopping, trips to the casino and enjoying a glass of wine but nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her family.

After raising their family Betty and Cline retired to the Lake of the Ozarks where they enjoyed some of their happiest years together. The lake became a safe haven for relaxation, family gatherings and creating treasured memories. Betty loved hosting family and friends while soaking in the beauty of the sun and cherishing the peaceful life they built there.

New Year’s Eve was always a special day for Betty. A time of celebration, laughter and love spent with the closest to her. It feels fitting that on this day her incredible life came full circle leaving behind a legacy of joy and unforgettable memories.
