Denney

In Loving Memory

Denney, Burleigh Gene

Burleigh Gene Denney passed away peacefully the morning of July 10, 2023 at the age of 91.

He was the son of the late Floyd Denney and Allie Shaw, Husband of 61 years to the late Mary Ann Denney (nee Gibbons), Father of six children: Colleen Konold, Brian Denney, Craig Denney, Erin Jones, Linda Denney and Kelly Lewis, Grandfather of 7, Great Grandfather of 6, Brother to the late Bob Denney and Carmon Frerichs and Uncle to many.

His smile and laughter will be missed by his family and friends. His love for sports, specifically soccer, is where he shared skills of life through coaching and encouraging kids to be better on and off the field. He also loved and enjoyed the outdoors- camping, hunting and float trips. Watching and listening to nature brought him peace. Listening to thunderstorms, sleeping on the backporch during a rainstorm or watching birds and deer at the lake made his life complete.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.

  1. We never called him Burleigh just DENNEY . We had so much fun times getting together on New Years, St.Pat’day and other occasions . He was always full of life and making sure everybody else was having a great time. My late wife Lois went to school with his wife Mary and we have known both for years. He will be missed along with those who have also passed away . May he rest in peace !

  2. Steve enjoyed going down and sitting on the porch to talk to Denny. He always had a wave for his neighbors. I don’t know how many times we watched him wobble his way back home after a visit from him but every visit was enjoyable. And who can forget his wife’s famous martinis she liked to serve us. The porch has been empty. We sure miss talking to you. Thinking of the family during this time. You had wonderful parents, uncle, grandfather
