Robert (Bob) Frederick Dick was lost to family and friends on Thursday, April 29th at the age of 76. Bob was born in St. Louis, Missouri on November 18, 1944 to his parents Olivia (Kuehne) Dick and Dr. Otto Jacob Dick. He is survived by his sister, Judith Ann (Dick) Kuehnert of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and his daughter Darleen (Joe) Schaeffler of St. Charles, MO. He was a doting grandfather to Christopher, Sally and Peter Schaeffler and a loving uncle to Mike Field, Andrea Dick, Kim Shannon, Matt Kuehnert, Tim Kuehnert and Dan Kuehnert, as well as a great-uncle. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and two older brothers, Michael David Dick of Anchorage, AK and Thomas Patrick Dick of St. Louis. Bob lived and worked most of his adult life in Montgomery, Texas.
He graduated from Roosevelt High School, in St. Louis in 1962, and enlisted soon afterward in the U.S. Navy. He was a proud Navy veteran who served multiple tours of duty during the Vietnam war aboard the U.S.S. Kitty Hawk. He was an avid fisherman, a Corvette enthusiast and enjoyed being part of boat and Corvette racing teams. He was an active member of VFW Post 4709 in Conroe and the Vietnam Veterans Association in Willis. His quick wit, gentle smile, love of a spirited conversation and his love for family and friends will be dearly missed.
Visitation will be held at Kutis South County Chapel, 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd, St. Louis, MO 63129 on Wednesday, May 12th from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11:30AM, followed by a burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to your local Disabled American Veterans organization.
