Lisa

In Loving Memory

Driskill, Lisa K. (nee Maxey)

Driskill, Lisa K. (nee Maxey) was taken to soon from her loving family on Monday, July 25, 2022. Beloved wife of Robert O. Driskill for over 31 years; loving mother of Nicholas Maxey, Christopher (Kayla) White, Brad Driskill and Gracie (Aaron) Carroll; cherished Nina of Tyler, Carson, Carlee, Hailey, Sunnie, Rylie and Adley; dear daughter of the late Carl Sr. and Reba “Frances” Maxey; the best sister ever to Diane Clayton (Steve), Sandra “Winnie” (Robert) Higgins and the late Carl Maxey, Jr. and Tracey Loyd.

She is gone…but never forgotten.

No one would ever argue that Lisa was the rock of her family. She cherished her kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews like no other.  If you needed help with anything and she was available or able to change her plans she was there for you.  She was everyone’s sounding board and never cast judgement on you; she looked at both sides of the situation before she gave advice. You could always see her at her nieces and nephews events cheering them on as if they were her own. She put her entire being into the people she loved.

She worked at Industrial Engineering as a laborer in her early years and then went on to work as a claim processor for several entities before spending the last years at Paylocity (formerly Beneflex HR). She made numerous lifelong friends along the way.

Lisa loved working in her yard, a trait that was handed down from her dad.  No one could meet her standards of yardwork except for her sister, Diane.  It’s a story that everyone in the family knows well, even criticized at times because the yard needed to be cut before she could do anything else.  It was a chore she enjoyed.  Another hobby of hers was making cookies and cakes for family gatherings, a trait she picked up on her own. She loved helping to plan and cook for family gatherings, holidays and birthday parties.  We all knew she could be counted on.

The last few months she has enjoyed going to the “land” (a little piece of heaven her and her husband own in Owensville, MO) and we are grateful for the time she was able to spend with her family there.  She wasn’t much of a traveler but when she did you could count on her to have everything with her.  The “BEST” packer you will ever meet.

Lisa is going to be missed so very much by everyone.  Her little people (grandchildren) are going to be lost for a bit.  She was their rock for everything.  Nina was the best Nina anyone could have asked for.

Services: Funeral at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. on Friday, July 29, 11 a.m. Interment private. In Lieu of flowers donations to Missouri Pitbull Rescue, mopitbullrescue.org, appreciated. Visitation, Thursday 4-8 p.m.

  5. Rob and family,
We are so very sorry and saddened to hear of Lisa’s passing. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor. We enjoyed living across the street from both of you for over 15 years. Leaving the neighborhood was hard. The night before we moved Lisa came over to say Goodbye-with tears in her eyes she hugged me and said I’m not good with Goodbyes. The next day as we loaded up the truck to move south-she came out on the porch to wave goodbye. She quickly went inside and she stood by the window waving to us. I knew the tears were falling down her cheeks just as they were for me. Another hard goodbye! I know this will be a hard goodbye for all of you. Just know Lisa will always be watching over all of you. Please tell the boys how sorry Marty and I are. Their Mom was an amazing Lady who loved her family dearly. Rob, our hearts ache for you and your family. Sending hugs and prayers for strength to get through this very sad time.

  13. Lisa was the kindest, sweetest neighbor and friend. She will be greatly missed and definitely leaves a void in many that knew and loved her. It still seems so surreal, and our thoughts and prayers go out to her loving family and friends. We got to see firsthand what an AWESOME Nina she was to her grandchildren and it breaks our hearts. Fly high up there in heaven Lisa and know how much you are missed.

Our deepest sympathies to you Rob, Nick, Chris, Brad, her grandchildren and family. Just know she was your rock, so stay strong and follow thru on the great examples she left for all of you.

  25. I never met Lisa in person, but she was my go-to assister for claims with my job because I was one who could never figure out the program. She and I developed a relationship over email. She was kind, helpful, and encouraging. She would often tell me that she would be praying for me. She helped me in ways she probably never even knew, and I will never forget that about her. My sincere condolences to her family. Even though I never met her, I could see her being all those things described above in her obituary. Her amazing spirit was always shined through in conversation with her. What a loss. May she rest in peace.
