Eaves

In Loving Memory

Eaves, Larry R.

Eaves, Larry R. 74, passed away Monday, May 3, 2021 from natural causes. He leaves his wife of 52 years, Colleen (Clark) Eaves; daughter Kelly (Dennis) Hoehn of Irving, IL; son Douglas (Courtney) Eaves of St. Louis; daughter Kimberly (Youssef) Ayoub of Olathe, KS; Grandsons: Connor and Logan Eaves; Ben and Matthew Hoehn; and Zachary Ayoub; sister Cathy (Joe) Gulash of Holiday Shores, IL.

He served in the United States Army with the 101st Airborne Division from 1966-1968. His patriotism did not end with his military service. He was a salesman through and through. He enjoyed field trips with his wife and grandsons, spending time with family and friends, and most of all serving others. He and his daily facebook posts will be missed by many. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Georgia, his sister Donna Knox, and his brother Nick Wargin.

Services; Funeral at Kutis South County (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Monday 5/10 at 10AM. Interment JB National Cemetery. Visitation  Sunday 4-8PM

  1. Larry was somebody whose actions focused on helping and serving others. He was devoted to his wife Colleen, and to helping his parish. As junior warden of Holy Trinity Anglican Church, he organized improvements on the landscaping, plumbing, electrical, and updated the lettering of the sign often. I find it astonishing that just one day before his passing he came forward with John Williams and presented me to Bishop Banek for my institution. Larry looked so alive and happy.
Moreover, Larry had a sense of humor; his jokes made us laugh, and his posts on Facebook were funny and wholesome. His frenetic activities in serving others right up to the last hour of his life made his sudden death so shocking. Certainly he will gain rewards in Heaven for good works. We miss Jr. Warden Larry Eaves.

  3. There is not one bad thing I can say about Larry. I will miss his patriotism, I will miss him at events, I will miss his classic movie trivia, I will miss that he always seemed proud of me, I will miss his humor, I will miss his photos of food I can’t eat, I will miss his love of God and family. I know I’m missing something but I’m still in shock. OUCH!!
Please don’t put off living any longer. Tomorrow is not promised.
    Larry, you were loved!!

  5. Larry and I hit it off immediately, talking for a half-hour or more on the doorstep of Holy Trinity, sharing stories of common friends in the Kansas City area (where I grew up.) He quickly became a close friend, sharing many common interests and life experiences. He would chide me for using words in some email or whatever which he would have to look up. Thus, every time I could, I would include a word that I knew he’d have to look up — mainly because I had to look it up to make sure I was using it correctly. Going to miss everything about my friend.

  7. Larry was a wonderful friend and neighbor. He was always smiling, happy, in a good mood and offering to help to others. Our “First Friday” neighborhood dinners will never be the same without him. He will be missed.

  9. Larry was a very terrific man, I knew him for my entire life, and was always very nice to me at all the family get togethers even though sometimes not seeing very often.
Many blessings to the family in this time of sadness and need.

  11. I was just thinking about Larry the other day and how I should contact him to see how he was doing. We always enjoyed his company and sense of humor. Unfortunately, we have not seen him since before the pandemic. He will be greatly missed and his family is in our prayers.

  15. Larry was the most caring man I have ever known. He went to such great lengths to see that everyone else’s needs were met. He was there when my husband needed transportation to men’s lunches and I was so thankful for that. He would dig deep to find people’s special needs and meet them. He will be so missed by my son and I. Our prayers go out to Coleen and his family.
