Jean-Eimers

In Loving Memory

Eimers, Jean (nee Abraham)

Jean Eimers (nee Abraham), beloved wife of Bill Eimers, died Thursday, July 14, 2022, at home in St. Louis, surrounded by her loved ones, at age 85.

She leaves behind her husband of 63 years, Bill Eimers, originally of Lyons, Nebraska; her children, Barb Leake (Mike), Kathy Schmiedeskamp (Robert Hoganson), Pat Kogos (Sam), Colleen Cova (Mike), Mark Eimers (Jackie), Karen Cordia (Dan); her daughter-in-law, Martha Eimers; her sister, Sharon Nathlich; 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and close friends. She is predeceased by her son, Mike Eimers; her son-in-law, Gary Schmiedeskamp; and her parents, George and Vera Abraham.

She was born and raised in Sioux City, Iowa, and spent many years of her married life in both St. Louis, Missouri, and Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Jean graduated from Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska, as a medical technician. She was an active member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Fenton, Missouri.

Jean shared with us her love for conversation, her devotion for her husband and family, her strong faith, endless optimism, her vibrant sense of humor, and a passion for baking. We will warmly remember the way she showed up at parties carrying a homemade cake with one piece missing.

Services: Funeral Mass on Monday, July 18, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive in Fenton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul, St. Louis.

  9. Jean, my 2nd mom, was a one in a million, special person. She always put her family first, no matter what. She taught me the importance of that. She could give the best advice on anything and could make the best chocolate chip cookies. When Mike and I would come to St. Louis with our children, the cookie jar was the second thing we would go for, after getting and giving big hugs from Mom/Grandma and Dad/Grandpa. We always looked forward to seeing them, whether in St. Louis or Louisville, when they would visit us. They never missed special occasions for us or our children. Jean always made me feel like a part of the family, like one of her children, even after Mike passed away. She will be greatly missed and our hearts will never be the same but I know heaven is a very lucky place, to have both her and Mike, watching over all of us.
