Mary Lou, affectionately known as “Momo” ‘, passed away on Wednesday January 15, 2025 at the age of 94.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Gianino, daughter to Robert and Bertha Smith (nee Ulrich). Sister to Robert, Pat (Pete) Smith and Betty. Loving mother of Deborah (Jack) Johnson, Sandra (Jon) DeFonce, Michael (Sandra) Gianino and Victoria (Kevin) Keevak. Dear Grandmother to Tara Kelly, Scott Johnson, Kelly (Jeremy) Clouse, Frances (Jake) Cox, Anthony Gianino and Marissa Gianino. Great Grandmother to Alyssa, Kaden and Jase.
Momo had an infectious laugh that summarized her approach to life. She was a devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan, spending many days in the right field bleachers. Her love of Bingo was unsurpassed. In addition, she was a devout Catholic and looked forward to attending mass on a regular basis. Most of all, she loved her family and hosted many family gatherings. Her most loved activity was sitting by her pool, surrounded by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to the American Heart Association.
Services: Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois, 63123 on Saturday, January 25 from 9:00 a.m. until funeral service time at 11:00 a.m. Private Interment at Resurrection Cemetery.

her kindness and love of life. Mary lived a full, beautiful life and I am
so grateful for having known her.
I’m not sure what words will ease the pain of the passing of Momo. She was always quick with a funny comment and every conversation with her was to say the least a riveting one. My love for her Joe and all the family will never go unforgotten. Rest well Mary lou and tell Joe I said hello.
