Jerry Golden, a beloved father, grandfather and dedicated Army veteran, passed away peacefully on September 7th, 2024 at the age of 78. Born on May 1st, 1946, in Paintsville, Kentucky, Jerry’s life was a testament to his unwavering commitment to his country and his family.
Jerry proudly served in the United States Army for more than 25 years, where he demonstrated remarkable courage and dedication. His service, marked by both honor and valor, earned him deep respect from his comrades and the gratitude of a grateful nation. Throughout his military career, he embodied the values of integrity, bravery, and selflessness. Following his military service, Jerry continued to contribute to national security and public service through his work with the Department of Defense.
Outside of his professional life, Jerry was a devoted fan of Kentucky Basketball, following the team with enthusiasm and pride. His love for the game was only surpassed by his passion for family. Jerry cherished time spent at the beach, often taking his family on memorable vacations that will be fondly remembered by all who shared those moments with him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sharon; his son, Jon; his granddaughters, Cailey and Alexis; and “his baby,” his great granddaughter, Cooper.
Jerry was a pillar of strength and love to his family, and his presence will be profoundly missed. A memorial service to honor Jerry’s life will be held on September 16th from 4-8pm at Kutis Funeral Homes in Affton, MO. He will be laid to rest on September 17th at Calvary Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association | Alzheimer’s Disease & Dementia Help in Jerry’s memory. Jerry Golden’s legacy will endure in the hearts of those who knew him and in the values he instilled in his loved ones. His courage, compassion, and dedication to both his country and his family will be remembered with deep respect and affection.
SERVICES: Funeral Service at Kutis Affton Chapel on Friday, September 27 at 10:00 AM. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation was held at KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL (10151 Gravois Rd., 63123) on Monday, September 16 from 4:00 – 8:00 PM.
