Izo

In Loving Memory

Izo, Raymond Michael

February 27, 1943 - February 25, 2025

Raymond “Ray” Micheal Izo passed away on February 25, 2025.  He was a devoted husband of 55 years to Theresa Catherine Izo (nee Lange) and a loving father to Lisa (Michael) Davidson and Michael (Jamie) Izo.  He was the best grandpa to Vincent and Megan Davidson and Carson and Caitlyn Izo. Ray was a dear uncle to Ricky (Ligaya) Maly, Linda Maly, Dan (Nancy) Axley, Bob Axley, Brian (Tracie) Axley, and Kelly (Jay) Jackson.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Anna, sister Dorothy Maly, and brother-in-law Fred Maly.  Ray was a treasured brother-in-law to Marilyn, Bob, JoAnn, Carol, and Clara. He was a caring uncle, great uncle, great-great uncle and friend to so many.

Ray was born February 27, 1943 and grew up in St. Louis, MO. He was baptized at Ebenezer Evangelical Lutheran Church on April 11, 1943. He was a 1962 graduate of O’Fallon Technical High School where he studied printing.  In June 1966, he was drafted into the Army and served in Vietnam as a Sergeant with the Wolfhounds. When he returned home, Ray married Theresa on September 6, 1969 at St. George Catholic Church. Ray worked hard to provide for his family and retired from Anheuser-Busch in 1995 after 34 years.

Ray was always happy, laughing, and joking and he loved telling stories about his family and life.  He never had a bad word to say about anyone and was genuinely a nice, caring guy.  He enjoyed listening to the Cardinals games on his radio. In his younger years, he enjoyed bowling and playing softball.  Ray was a family man: he spent time with his wife that he always proudly claimed as his best friend, traveled with his son on his sport trips and his nephew Ricky on his work trips, and was always our number #1 fan at his children’s and grandchildren’s events.  Ray’s legacy of kindness and love lives through his children and grandchildren; he will be greatly missed.

A visitation will be held at Kutis Funeral Home at 10151 Gravois, St. Louis, MO 63123 on Monday, March 3rd from 4pm-9pm. His funeral will take place the following morning, on Tuesday, March 4th at 12 noon at Kutis, followed by his interment at Jefferson Barracks.

He wished for happiness for everyone and we wish the same for you Pops. Rest in peace, Ray.  We will see you again one day.

Condolences
