George Martin Kacic passed away December 17, 2021, at the age of 91.
George, son of the late Gverinko and Ljubica Kachich, was born November 12, 1930, in Cleveland, OH. He was married to Mary M. Kacic of St. Louis for 68 years.
George was brother to Mary Ann (nee Kachich) Morris, the late Andrew Kacic, the late Olga (nee Kachich) Trekokas, and the late Frances (nee Kachich) Kacich.
George was the father of four children: Linda (Ron) LaRoche, George (Sue) Kacic, Marlene (Bob) Brock, and Donna (Tim) Murphy. He was grandfather to Peter Anderson, Lara Coffee, Kim Kacic, Travis Brock, Sara LaRoche-Lee, Angela Brennan, Debra Bishop, Madison and Mckenzie Murphy; great-grandfather to Taylor, Sydney, and Sebastian Smith, Alexis Anderson, Caleb Brock, Caden and Ainsley Coffee, Layla Brennan, Malakai and McKaylee Bridwell, Lucas and Ramsey Bishop; and uncle and cousin to many.
George served as a St. Louis Police Officer and was a retired Manager for Sears Parts Department. As a board member and officer of the South Side Optimist Club, he donated many hours towards charitable efforts for children and the needy throughout the St. Louis area.
At Friendship Village Retirement Center, he was well-known and loved for his friendliness and constant smile. He served as designer and lead engineer in the creation of the Model Train Room at Friendship Village and was a Bingo advocate.
Services will be held at Kutis Affton Funeral Home with visitation at 10:00-12:00 and conclude with a Catholic service at noon. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the South Side Optimist Club, the Friendship Village Train Room or Bingo Clubs at Friendship Foundation, 12563 Village Circle Drive, St. Louis, MO 63127.

George was a wonderful person, easy to like and enjoy his humor. Over the past 7 years I have come to know him very well and will miss our little social discussions. My deepest sympathy to his family for their great loss. God Bless.
