Pam & Brenda,
I am sorry to hear of my cousin John’s passing. I will always remember the smile on his face as seen in his obituary’s. He was such a pleasure to be around when we were growing up. I hope that your grief will be tempered with the good memories of John’s smile.
Dear Pam and family:
Anybody that knew John knew he was a very special person. One of a kind you might say! He was a big man with a bigger personality. He really had a zest for life! His dedication, his commitment, his great humor, his infectious laugh, his warm smile and his LOVE were just a few of his noteworthy traits. As his cousin and friend, I got to share many memorable moments with John.
Many stories to tell, but I will share one.
Walking in the woods on a trail with Pam and other couples several years ago, , John spotted a juicy ripe blackberry, so he picked it and popped into his mouth. John could not contain himself and let out a satisfied “MMM., MMM, MMM!” groan and had to exclaim, “Boy that’s good!!” with much gusto! Yes, John appreciated the large and small things that life offered. In so doing he gave much to all of us!
John, may you rest in peace until the coming of our Lord, Jesus Christ to give us full abundant life for all eternity!
Pam and family know my prayers and support are with you now and in the days to come!
So sorry to hear of his passing from Gary Range. I’m a distant cousin in Kentucky. My father is a brother of my Aunt Hazel. Although I have many cousins, I haven’t met. I just wanted to send my condolences to the family.. I am a retired military member which hate to hear of a fellow brother passing. Our prayers to you and yours.
We all love and miss you so much! I always loved doing math problems with you in the car, and can’t wait to tell my future students about it. I’ll always eat the chocolate tootsie pops for you. I love you grandpa❤️
I miss you, Grandpa. I loved your big bear hugs and how you always lit up the room. You were the most fun, the most loving. I’ve been thinking back on so many memories, from singing Taylor Swift in the car to you telling me to “hit ‘em where they ain’t” when I played softball. I love you so much.
I am forever grateful that my children got to call you Grandpa. You made such an amazing connection with each one of them. I will miss your infectious laugh and big bear hugs. Love you, John!
Though our time together was limited, I am so grateful to have met you. I will remember the memories that you have provided me for the rest of my life. I will miss you dearly. May you rest in peace. Love you❤️.
John was an excellent Letter Carrier and an active union member with Branch 343, NALC. He was always dedicated to providing the best possible service to his customers. John was also a union steward and a Step A representative in the grievance process. He brought the same level of commitment and expertise to the job of protecting his fellow letter carriers and enforcing the contract as he did to delivering the mail. John and I worked jointly on several occasions during our postal careers. After we retired, we started playing golf together at MDA tournaments and just for fun on weekday outings. John was a very talented golfer. I was always amazed when he would hit his trademark shot, a power fade, which would look like it was headed for the trees but which would, more often than not, end up in the middle of the fairway. John was a great friend. I will miss his hearty laughter and playful banter. The camaraderie we shared on the golf course carried over to the lunches afterwards at a Mexican restaurant (with Cadillac Margaritas). Golf will never be the same for me. Rest easy, my friend. My heart goes out to Pam and the family for such a sudden, unexpected and tragic loss.
So sad to read of John’s passing in the Mound City Carrier. My sincere condolences to Pam and her family.
