In Loving Memory

Lubsch, Alice K.

January 11, 1943 - April 26, 2025

In Loving Memory of Alice Lubsch

Alice Lubsch, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and friend, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering care for others left a lasting imprint on everyone blessed to know her.

Born to Katherine and Bernard W. LaRose Sr., Alice lived a life full of warmth and selflessness. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her family, raising her five children — Jeffrey (Shari), Debbie, David (Sherri), Suzanne, and Lisa (Nick) — with endless love, laughter, and encouragement.

Family was Alice’s greatest joy. She beamed with pride over her grandchildren — Lucas, Olivia, Grant (Hannah), Alexander, Phoebe, and Bruno — and found even greater happiness welcoming her precious great-granddaughter, Remy, into the world.

Alice had a remarkable way of making every person she met feel special. She would do anything for anyone without hesitation, quietly becoming a role model to those around her. Her caring heart, humble spirit, and fierce devotion to family and friends defined her beautiful life.

A woman of many talents, Alice found joy in bowling and crafting thoughtful gifts for others. Almost everyone lucky enough to cross her path has a keepsake made by her — whether it’s a knitted winter hat in their colors or a treasured tissue box cover or a holiday flag for the yard.

At the end of every conversation, Alice’s words were simple but heartfelt: “Take care.”

A gentle reminder of the love and kindness she shared so freely.

In honor of Alice’s life and in celebration of her grandson Bruno, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to the Down Syndrome Association of Greater St. Louis. Contributions may be made to the Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk, a cause near and dear to Alice’s heart: https://p2p.onecause.com/suds2025.

Alice’s legacy of love, generosity, and care will live on through all those who were blessed to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

  1. Aunt Alice, you have been an inspiration to me. You went through so many health challenges over the years with such bravery and grace, putting others first. I will always remember that you came to visit your sister Nancy in Kentucky when I know how difficult it was for you to travel. I’m glad you’re at peace now. Thank you for all the love you gave!

  4. Alice was a very close friend and neighbor for many years. We would go out
to celebrate our birthdays and come home to play card games with her
daughter Debbie and have some snacks. She was interested in the things
that happen at the condo and enjoyed all the neighbors. She was always happy
to talk about her grandchildren . We always enjoyed sharing time with Alice and
her family. She is greatly missed. We love you!

  5. To Lisa and the entire Lubsch Family,
I was so very sad to hear this news. I have such wonderful memories of middle school sleepovers at your house; your mom was always so kind and inviting. I loved seeing her crafts! She was also a dear, dear friend to my mom for a long time. When my mom passed away, Alice was so kind to my family. I will never forget how she gave each of the eight Schellhardt kids a gift card to Steak-n-Shake where she and our mom shared many meals and stories over the years. I’m sure they’ll have a heavenly steakburger soon; they have a lot to catch up on.
I hope you all find the strength you need to get through this difficult time. You’re in my thoughts and prayers.
