Beloved father of Julie (Justin) Hope and Ashlie (Dan) Wiegner; adoring grandfather of Amelia Hope, Caroline Hope, Henry Hope, Miles Wiegner, and Vivien Wiegner; dearest son of the late Paul and Bernadine Rathgeber (née Lange); loving brother of Joecile (Marc) Hoerner; dear uncle of Erin Hoerner and Megan (Mark) Webster; and cherished great uncle, stepfather, cousin, and friend.
Mark was a proud graduate of Saint Louis College of Pharmacy, Augustinian Academy, and St. Boniface. He was a dedicated pharmacist, proudly serving the St. Louis metro area for over 50 years. He took great pride in caring for patients and established Fitzpatrick Pharmacy as one of the most respected pharmacies in the hospice care community. Outside of his profession, Mark found great joy on the water as an avid deep sea fisherman and boating enthusiast. He also had a lifelong love for classic muscle cars. Above all, he cherished time spent with his daughters, grandchildren, and beloved puppies.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Shrine of St. Joseph are greatly appreciated.

Ashlie & Julie, so sorry to hear of your father’s death. Mark was dedicated to providing for hospices in the Greater St Louis area. May he
Now rest in peace.
Ashlie, Julie and your family, I will be forever thankful for the professional care Mark gave to our patients at Visiting Nurse Association. He was our preferred pharmacy for 30 years. He always looked out for our staff, patients and their families. His contribution to helping the sick will never be forgotten. We thank Mark for his service and dedication. May he now rest.
Ashlie, Julie and family,
Mark was more than my boss. I will always cherish the wonderful memories I have with him. He will be missed. My condolences to you all.
Hi Ashlie and Dan. I’m sorry to hear about the passing of your father. It sounds like he had a life full of joy and family. I hope you can remember the joy.
Mark was my first boss, my first mentor, like a father to me, in my life for almost 30 years, one of the main reasons I became a pharmacist, always there for me when I needed a summer job, needed advice, or a place to stay when we visited StL after moving away. So many great memories with him, his daughters, his parents, his puppies & the Pharmacy, that I will cherish forever. Rest in peace Mark.
Ashlie & Dan, I’m sorry to hear this. You’re in my thoughts and prayers. God bless.
Mark helped people, including myself. He was intelligent, compassionate and driven. I enjoyed our conversations and learned from him. May peace be upon him.
Mark, you will be missed. You helped Glen & I (Debbie Gelber) in so many ways. We were so grateful to you and your fantastic team. RIP 🙏
I am so sorry to hear about Mark’s passing. I remember spending many days at Fitzpatrick Pharmacy and I eventually got paid a few times for dusting the shelves as a child. Mark also took the snacks off of the shelves and offered some to me at times.
He took me and my family into his home and provided food for us when we had nowhere to go. He took in myself, a moody teenager, and my younger brother who was about 8 or 9 years old. I will never forget him bringing home the Outback bread and butter and occasionally a Blooming Onion home. He is also the reason that I have a specific order at Firehouse Subs because one day he brought it home and said that I could have it. The order was a club on the sub.
I remember him taking us out on his boat and it was so fun and his “boat car” that was as wide as a boat. I have wanted to own a boat since that day. It was an experience I had never had before (at least that I could remember) and it was amazing.
Mark will always be considered a grandpa adjacent to me.
I am currently studying for finals out of state and unfortunately will not be able to make it out.
I want to send my condolences to Mark’s family.
Ashlie, Julie and family. My condolences to you in the loss of your father. I knew Mark for many years and he was a remarkable man. He served the hospice community with compassion, professionalism, commitment and sensitivity to the patients and families. He worked endlessly to meet the needs of the patients, families and staff. He was constantly educating staff and physicians about hospice appropriate medications. St Louis was so fortunate to have him. He had a great personality with a sense of humor that kept people laughing. He was a mentor to his staff and the nurses. Mostly he always put his patients first. He loved his Spiritual origins and I know he will now rest in peace with his Father in Heaven. Wishing you all peace, joy and comfort through your memories.
Ashlie, Dan, and family, Mark may have passed, but love is eternal. May you find love and joy after the grief of his loss has passed. Love you all.
So sorry to hear of Marks passing, he was such a great person. I used to help my father Roger assist Mark with his computer issues and Mark would always send me a thank you card and some jellybeans 🙂 and help with my medications. He was just so thoughtful toward others when they needed it. He will be missed, thoughts and prayers to you all.
I knew Mark for many years as one of my favorite patients and later providing my medication needs as Father Time caught up to me. He was a kind and gentle man who bore his health issues with great strength and dignity. We saw each other professionally with mutual respect and friendship. May his family and friends take comfort knowing he is in that special place we all hope to enter when our time comes.
My family has had a relationship with Fitzpatrick Pharmacy since 1975. I don’t remember when Mark began his long tenure there, but I know I noticed the level of service was even better when he arrived. It was already great. I enjoyed stopping to chat a bit when I was there several times a month. After he stopped coming, I missed him and would often ask about him. He was just the best! Rest in Peace, Mark.
