Lynda Marie Ritter, 52, of St. Louis, Missouri, was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on March 20, 2022.
Lynda was born on October 14, 1969, beloved daughter of Joseph and Carol Ritter, dear sister to Sheryl Exler, and Joseph Ritter, Jr., dear sister-in-law to Troy Exler and Christina Ritter, dear aunt to Danielle Exler.
Lynda loved to learn, and she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education and her Master of Arts in Teaching through Webster University. In addition to other post-graduate certificates, she was just a dissertation away from earning her Doctorate.
After working with preschool children for a number of years, she opened her own school and named it Little Hands Child Development Center. A few years into this successful business, she learned that due to her Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD), she would need a transplant soon, and thus better insurance. This opened the door to her next successful endeavor as a Senior Administrator with the YWCA Head Start/Early Head Start Program. For many years, young children, their teachers and other administrators benefitted from Lynda’s hard work, knowledge and dedication.
Lynda loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a blessing to all the children and the cats in her life. In addition, she was godparent to Danielle Exler, Elliot Sumner and Sydney Courtway, and special aunt to Emmet Sumner, Henry and Rain Determan.
Lynda was predeceased by her father Joseph Ritter, as well as her grandparents, and a number of beloved aunts and uncles.
Services: A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Martin of Tours Church, 610 W. Ripa Ave., St. Louis, MO 63125, on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at 11 a.m. It will be followed by a Celebration of Life in the Church’s Runge Hall. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society or the PKD Foundation.

I’ve known Lynda for a very long time, ever since my brother Troy and her sister Sherry started dating in high school. Despite her health issues she was always cheerful and loved life. Her family, friends, and of course her cats were her world. She will be missed by many.

Lynda was an amazing and kindhearted person. She often spoke about her cats and her niece. Lynda loved Early Childhood Education and was passionate about it. My prayers are with the entire family during this time.
