In Loving Memory

Salgado Poblete, Amalia

Passed away in her sleep on December 8, 2021 in Webster Groves, MO at the beautiful age of 91. Born in Hidalgo, Mexico in 1930, she was one of 16 children. She was preceded in death by her husband Adolfo Poblete. Amalia is survived by her four children (Alejandrina Poblete, Adolfo Poblette, Francisco [Susana] Poblete, and Ana Julien), four grandchildren (Nina [Ryan] Hageness, Jazmine Poblette, Amalia Julien and Halsey Julien), and three great-grandchildren (Marissa Espinoza, Fernando Espinoza, and Hannah Hageness).

Amalia was an extraordinary woman with a determined spirit. Her strong-will and tenacity led her to find a way and a solution, even when nobody else could see it. She was humble, generous, hard-working, faithful and witty. Everyone she met had an instant connection with her. She may not have had a formal career, but the way she successfully balanced many jobs, raising children, providing for her family and keeping a home with modest means, inspired those around her to push through when times get tough.

She’s best remembered for her smile, her funny antics like “photoshopping” her photos, directing where everyone should be sitting at events, and making the most memorable and incredible home cooked meals.  She leaves a legacy and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Visitation will be at the Kutis Funeral Home – Affton Chapel in St. Louis, MO on Saturday, December 11, 2021 between 2 PM – 8 PM. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

  1. She always had a smile a caress and a condescending look, I regret not having been able to see her when she asked for me. She will be in my heart with a beautiful memory of her home in Chapultepec.
I hug her from my soul, I keep tour beautiful smile and her bright eyes.
God keep her in his light.

  3. We have such fond memories of Amalia when she and Nina stayed with us after her hip surgery. She was sweet and a lot of fun in spite of her health problems. She bravely ate everything we gave her and loved her deserts and always, like me, loved her coffee. Our daughter, who comes often, agreed how pleasant she was and how much we all enjoyed her. God bless you Amalia, Rest In Peace and pray for all of us.
