In Loving Memory

Shinault, Mark A.

January 6, 1962 - October 31, 2025

Mark A. Shinault asleep in Jesus on Friday, October 31, 2025. Loving husband of Lisa Shinault (nee Maertz). Beloved father of Brandon (Rachel) Shinault; cherished grandfather of Kinsley. Dear son of the late J.W. and Charlotte Shinault. Our dear brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle, Godfather, cousin and friend.

Mark was born and raised in St. Louis, MO, with 4 sisters and 2 brothers. He grew up playing baseball and fishing. He married his high school sweetheart, Lisa Maertz. He was an avid bowler and made many friends in all his years of bowling. After having his son, Brandon, he couldn’t wait to teach him to fish and there was nothing he enjoyed more than coaching and watching him play baseball. Mark loved his wife, Lisa, for 41 years and had friendships that lasted just as long. His love for his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Rachel, was unconditional and his granddaughter, Kinsley Grace, filled his heart like nothing or no one else. He will be missed by many.

Service; Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (Lemay Ferry Road) on Wednesday, November 5, 4:00-8:00 PM then to Abiding Savior for visitation on Thursday, November 6, from 9:00 AM until service at 10:00 AM. Interment Sts. Peter & Paul Cemetery.

  4. Mark, I always will remember your smile, you would light up the room. You were always such a happy person and a great man. I know when it thunders it just means you’re throwing strikes up there just like you did here. You will always be missed, until we meet again.

  5. Dearest Lisa and family, I know this is a difficult time, take it slow and accept any offers of help or visits, let your family and friends share your sorrow and all the memories of a life well lived. Talking about Mark keeps him and all the memories alive in your hearts.. Know that all your cousins in Chicago are thinking of you all and share in your grief. Love you and if you ever need to talk just give me a call. Eva

  8. Dear Mark,
I am so sorry to hear this news. We were always such good friends from our earliest days playing catch and wiffle ball in my yard, to our many years at the cafeteria. You were always such a humble, dependable, solid guy. My deep salutations to Lisa and Mark’s siblings. The Shinaults played an imporrant role in the childhood of the Natsis family. And yeah, Mark was a darn good baseball player back in the day!
    May God bless you all.

  9. I remember Mark helping me out as a teenager when I locked my keys in the car.
Well, I’m sure it was a nice excuse to get out of work at the Fountain, he was always my dad’s dependable go-to person.

Both Mark and Lisa were such a kind presence to me after my mom passed away. You both have a very dear place in my heart after all these years.

  11. My Love and Prayers are with Lisa, Brandon and the whole family. As a cousin, I have great childhood memories of Mark, from our family barbeques, horseshoes and our baseball games, Illinois vs Missouri. Mark, being soft spoken and smiling was always competitive. A very very special young man.
