Rest peacefully, my friend. Though our time together was brief, your influence on my life was profound. You truly checked all the boxes: husband, father, son, friend, athlete, entrepreneur, soldier and patriot. Tim, you were a giver and not a taker. Thank you for introducing me to your family and letting me discover the extraordinary life you led.
Tim, you embodied the definition of what it means to be a “man”. You cared for others. Protected those you didn’t know. Lead and helped others realize their potential. Served every person you met. Loved those both in your care and not.
Thank you for the lessons you taught, time you gave, and love you shared with so many. Our world is a better place because of men like you.
Rest in peace my friend, your memory and honor live on in those of us lucky enough to have met and grown with you.
What a joy it was to know Tim, a kind and generous soul. Thank you for calling me friend, brother. I am honored. May your family remember the love you had for them and find peace.
Tim left a huge footprint in his family, service to his Country, Community, Veterans, Small business and more.
My heart hurts for my Cousin Kathy Smith and Jim Smith, Tim’s wife Terri and children Tim Jr and Tyler and all of the extended family.
His work here was complete. He left plenty for others to continue his Mission.
God Bless
Rest Peacefully
Love,
Trish and Aunt Mary Jo
RIP friend. Your tour is complete.
Tim was a true friend and advocate for all of his fellow Veterans. He will be dearly missed by all within the Missouri Veterans Commission for which he selflessly served.
Tim: Fly like you are meant too. You always had a smile on your face and gave all your attention when listening or talking with someone. I am glad you are not in pain. You will be missed and cherished……
Rest in peace Tim “smooth” Thank you for all the good you did before you were called home
For my quiet, soft spoken cousin. You are one to be respected, a hero who paid the price. You have left a legacy to be proud of. It was an honor to have known you as a family member and fellow service member.
Forever in my heart with love,
Cousin Donna
Tim, yours was a life well-lived, but far too short.
Thanks for the wonderful example you set for all of us about faith, family and service to others.
Rest in Peace my friend. You leave an inspiring legacy for your sons, and all of us to emulate.
Tim, Your passion for service and helping everyone live their best possible lives was not just a calling – you led the charge. You inspired us all to be better versions of ourselves, and your kindness and compassion is a model we can all learn from. Way too soon to be called home – thank you – for being a true friend, advocate, and leader for us to follow. Prayers for your sweet family…..
He was a kind beautiful soul.

Proud to have known such a wonderful soul. My condolences to Teresa, the boys, and the family. You will be missed.
Tim was our good friend and he was a friend to many. He was a genuine guy and he was a real hero. He was loved by many and he will be sorely missed.
Tim was unfailingly kind and curious, with an open and genuine interest and deferential to others. He was really and truly a gentleman with a big heart who put others first. It was a pleasure to know him.
Teri;
I am so sorry for your loss.
Tim,
You left it all on the court. You lived your life to the fullest. You served your duty on earth to the highest. Heaven has gained a treasure, and earth has lost an inspiration. Congratulations on a life lived to the fullest!
Terri, im so sorry. May God bless you and the boys!! My condolences. I remember when you went to Germany to be with him. Your love! Forever!
Tim, it was truly an honor and a privilege to coach our kids’ teams together. So many great memories, both on and off the court. My heartfelt condolences to the entire Smith family. Rest in peace, old friend, and thank you deeply for your service.
Had the great honor of serving with him and was a true definition of a soldier. I always looked up to him and loved his success story. Going to miss your trips to Florida and us drinking and having a great time. Until Valhalla my brother
One of the best guys I’ve ever met. Always was on the straight and narrow
Tim, you were selfless in your dedication and involvement in advocating for Missouri Veterans during the three years I was blessed to serve with you on the Missouri Veterans Commission. You gave of your time, your talent and your heart for Missouri Veterans and tirelessly pressed for answers when Missouri Veterans were not treated with dignity and respect for the great sacrifices they each gave to our country, you yourself experiencing the ultimate sacrifice for us all, in your service to our country. May you rest in peace and may the community of Missouri Veterans thank you and your family for all that you have done to serve us. Our prayers go out to you and your loving family.
I will always remember Tim fondly. I was new to the St Louis area and was just hired on at the VA as a peer specialist. He was instrumental in helping me get acclimated to all things St Louis. He introduced me to certain agencies and people in regards to recovery. He also introduced me to Syberg’s and Imo’s. He was a selfless and genuine person who made made everyone feel valued. I am very proud to have worked beside him in the role of peer support.
Tim was a kind very amazing person. I never heard him say a negative thing about anyone or any thing. He was always a pleasure to be around. I offer my sincere condolences to his wife and children.
Tim was an amazing friend to our family. His smile and friendship over the years meant a ton to us. He supported us in so many ways. We send our deep condolences.
