In Loving Memory

Sorich, Donald Carl

October 15, 1937 - March 5, 2026

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Donald Carl Sorich, who left us peacefully on March 5, 2026, at the age of 88, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 15, 1937, Don was the cherished son of Helen and Carl Sorich.  He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and went on to serve with honor in the United States Army, where he developed a lifelong commitment to service and community.

On September 10, 1960, Don married the love of his life, Carol Lee Sorich (née Holt), sharing 65 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and companionship.  Don was a proud father to his five children: Steven, Scott (Mendy), Kevin (Teri), Debra (John), and Pamela (Jeffrey).  Family was his greatest treasure and he found immense joy in celebrating life’s milestones with them.

As proud grandparents, Don and Carol were blessed with thirteen grandchildren: Alexandra (Christopher), Brittany, Amber (Joseph), Nicholas (Delaney), Addison (Eric), Andrew, Olivia, Emma, Maxwell (Ashley), James, Sarah, Christopher and Lucas.  They also welcomed five great-grandchildren: Xavier, Maverick, Jordan, Maeve and Emerson.  Don took immense pride in each of their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together, sharing life lessons and countless adventures.

A lifelong enthusiast of all things with motors, Don opened a Kawasaki dealership named S & S Kawasaki, where he shared his passion with others.  He ultimately enjoyed a long and successful career at Grey Eagle Distributors, managing the entire fleet of vehicles and proudly racing cars semi-professionally for ten years, sponsored by Grey Eagle and always showcasing the Budweiser logo.  His adventurous spirit shone brightly on the racetrack, where he enjoyed the thrill of competition, camaraderie with fellow racers and of course winning.  Don also loved his cars.  Too many to mention. Don’s love of cars lead to many great and lasting friendships.

More than Don’s love of motorsports was his immense love for his family and friends.  He would drop anything he was doing to help anyone in need, embodying the true spirit of generosity and kindness.  Don knew no strangers and welcomed everyone with an open heart.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; his five children, Steven, Scott, Kevin, Debra and Pamela; his thirteen adored grandchildren; his five adorable great-grandchildren; his sister, Carol (Michael) Brynac; and his nephew, Matthew, all who will deeply miss his presence.

Visitation for Don will be held on Sunday, March 8th, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Kutis Funeral Home, located at 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Don on Monday, March 9th, at 10 am at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, located at 4900 Ringer Rd., St. Louis, MO 63129.  Anyone wishing to participate in a brief prayer service prior to proceeding to the church is invited to join the family at Kutis at 9 am.

Donald Carl Sorich will be remembered for his kindness, integrity and the love he shared with all who knew him. His legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched.
