In Loving Memory

Spengemann, Jeffrey P.

September 17, 1977 - February 12, 2025

Jeffrey Spengemann, beloved husband of Jenny Spengemann (nee Krausz); loving father of Nathan Spengemann; adoring son of Michael and Cathy Spengemann; cherished brother of Michael Spengemann; dear uncle of Grace, Emma, Rick and Samantha; dear son-in-law of Russell and Sandra Krausz; dear brother-in-law of Tony (Kirsten) Krausz; dear nephew of E.J. (Chris) Johnson; our dearest cousin, relative and friend to many, passed away on February 12, 2025 with his family by his side.

Jeff’s favorite thing to do was spend time with his son, Nathan, especially coaching or watching his soccer games, going to the junkyard for car parts, fixing the cars with Nathan, his dad, and uncle, and watching football, especially Mizzou and the Chiefs. He loved spending time with his family, whether that was going out to dinner, taking a vacation, or just hanging out at home. Jeff was a fun uncle and loved seeing his nieces and nephew who would jump on him and sometimes give him a nice makeover while he was sleeping.

Jeff attended Truman State University, where he joined Delta Sigma Pi and made many dear friends, including his bestie, Rick (Jackie) Slattery. Some of Jeff’s biggest smiles came out around Rick, especially when they did things like drive to Memphis because they were eating Memphis BBQ potato chips.

Jeff was lucky enough to fulfill his dream of being a police officer for 7 years. He loved the job and helping people. Jeff never let the challenges of the job get him down. When he could no longer perform those duties, he became a clerk at the police station and continued to be a support for law enforcement. He made many friends there and will miss talking to them all night.
Jeff never took life too seriously, but knew what was important and made the most of his time on Earth. His smile and sense of humor will be missed by all those who love him.
Memorial visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Rd. 63123 on Friday, March 7 from 4-8 pm with Memorial Service on Saturday, March 8 at 11:00 am. 1. Just heartbreaking. Jeff was a good guy. I had the pleasure of working nights with Jeff for five years. I loved hearing the stories about his son, who he would call Bubs. RIP Jeff I thank God I got to know you.

I am so incredibly sorry for what you and Nathan are going through. Jeff was such a special person that truly did anything for anyone- (and multiple times for some lol) He helped no matter what- judgment free- and with a smile on his face while doing it!!! (Insert laugh here while remembering a little Aaron literally and figuratively kicking Jeff out if his own bed lol). You two were truly meant for each other! We love you and Nathan. I know nothing anyone says can make this easier. I think God needed something big taken care of up there and knew just the person for the job.

    Sending you love,
    Tavi, Jason, Elijah, Aaron

  6. I worked with Jeff on the desk for a few years. Just an all around good guy. He always had a big smile on his face talking about his son and all the things he enjoyed doing with him. I was shocked to hear about his passing. My family extends our heartfelt prayers to his family. God speed Jeff.
