In Loving Memory

Thompson, Burton A. Jr.

Burton A. Thompson, Jr.  Sunday, March 10, 2024. Loving father of Bryan (Jennie) Thompson, Christina (Erik) Ahlansberg and Kimberly (Josh) Shives. Cherished grandfather of Macy, Luke, Joseph, Vincenzo, Max and Emma. Dear brother of Ron (Shirley) Davis, Ann (Joe) Turner and Randy (Cindy) Thompson. Our dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.

He served in the United States Marine Corps and retired after twenty-three years of faithful, honorable service. Once a Marine, Always A Marine. Semper Fidelis, Oorah!  An avid fisherman, Burt was most content fishing with his children and grandchildren.  He had a knack for finding the greatest fishing spots and the best catches with his secret trout bait.  Burt found life-long fulfillment serving his community by helping those struggling with addiction and alcoholism.  Known for being the first to call no matter the time, day or night, he was always ready to spread the Gospel of Jesus and the Word of God, boldly.

Services; Visitation at Kutis South County (5255 Lemay Ferry) on Friday 3/15 10:30AM until time of service at 11:30AM. Interment JB National Cemetery.

  2. I offer my deepest condolences to you, Christina, and your family, on the death of your father. I know how hard it is to have parents die, whatever age their children are, I pray for God’s comfort and Grace as you grieve your loss. Much love to you, Erik, and your dear children. Love, Janice Steinberg

  4. Burt was my first sponsor in recovery. I am so sorry to see that he is gone. Although we lost touch over the years he was a big part of my early sobriety, now 16 years strong. I know he loved his children and grandchildren so much. I pray for you all and for Burt. Rest easy brother.
