Oh, sweet, Renie! What a lady! She made me the most beautiful rosaries. I treasure them. So sorry I did not get to say goodbye! Will pray for you, pray for us. We had some great times at St Joan of Arc!
Dear Sweet Renie,
Such a lovely and faith filled woman. In 2003, the pastor at Saint Joan of Arc Parish “Persuaded“ for me to become the Pro-Life coordinator for SJA. My first thought was to have a meeting to see what ideas other people had for our Pro-Life committee. The first person to arrive at that meeting was Renie. I felt as though I was in over my head and trust me when I say it showed. But Renie was so supportive, and so full of good ideas. But, most of all, Renie had a love for all of the babies and the parents who found themselves in what seemed like impossible situations. When the Pro-life committee began giving out a VERY small scholarships to the eighth graders, Renie would make rosaries for them to accompany their scholarships. The rosaries were so beautiful! I remember at one meeting, saying I wish I was an eighth grader so I could hopefully win the scholarship and get one of these rosaries. The next week at mass Renie gave me the most beautiful rosary that she made, and I still cherish to this day.
I have so many wonderful memories of my friendship with Renie. But Renie was a timeless woman. She was so full of love and laughter and compassion and faith and always cheered everyone on in their endeavors. But most of all, Renie taught us, or at least me, the importance of every life. I remember at one of our Pro-Life meetings, Renie talked with all of us about the importance of praying for the children who didn’t get to be born. She said that when we remember and pray for the children who lost their lives to abortion, we gave an importance to those children and their lives, even if it was only just to us.
So, I think about in addition to her husband and her daughter, Renie was likely met by a lot of children who wanted to just say thank you for remembering us.
Rest in peace, Renie!! You will be missed!!
Rine was so welcoming and friendly to me when I went to the Senior Center to exercise . We knew each other from me taking pictures of her Grandkids at St Ambrose when she came to watch them. Also at luncheons at Church. She always looked beautiful and she and Wayne so happy. So sorry I didn’t know of her passing. Would have liked to say goodbye. Prayers, condolences and love to her family. Judy Bozikis🙏
I met Renie when she ushered at Powell Hall. I enjoyed when she and her sisters were there.
But more importantly, we shared our prayers and intentions for pro-life efforts. And happy to see her and Wayne when we transferred to St. Ambrose.
