On Sunday, October 12, 2025, Maureen “Mo” Butler peacefully passed away at the age of 64 surrounded by her family.
Mo was born on December 13, 1960 in Brooklyn, NY to James “Jim” and Phyllis (Caffrey) Farren. She’s the eldest of her siblings, Regina, and the late James Farren Jr.
After her family moved a few times throughout her childhood, Mo found her place in Saint Louis. She was a proud alumni of Cor Jesu Academy and Missouri State University.
Throughout her life, Mo has been a hard working woman juggling multiple jobs, always with a smile and no complaints. She was kind hearted and if you told her one detail about yourself, she remembered it. Her love language was gift giving and those around her knew it.
She could beat anyone at Yahtzee, often times doing the math for everyone around the table at lightning speed. Mo loved her girls trips, spending time at the beach, enjoying a cold beer, surprising friends and family with food from work at Psghettis, and of course, her Saint Louis Cardinals.
Mo is survived by her four children, Kyle Butler, Abby (Gregory) Bollasina, Lucy (Conner) Manley, Elly (Connor) Miller, her sister Regina (Ted) Pimmel, her two grandchildren, Vinny and Kane Bollasina, her nieces, Molly and Shannon Pimmel, step mom, Andrea Hersey, and hundreds of friends along the way.
A mass to honor Mo will be held on November 6, 2025 at Seven Holy Founders at 3:00 pm (6741 Rock Hill Rd Saint Louis, MO 63123). Mo always wanted a big party, so a celebration of life will take place immediately following mass at The Christy from 4:00 – 8:00 pm (5856 Christy Blvd Saint Louis, MO 63116).
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Ronald McDonald House or be sure to tip your server in cash, one of Mo’s life rules.
