John Joseph Eddington peacefully passed away on October 22, 2025, at the age of 66. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on January 21, 1959. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald J. Eddington; his mother, Mildred (Holtgrewe) Eddington; and his brother, Thomas J. Eddington.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Mary (Dennison) Eddington; his children, Catelyn E. Eddington and John J. Eddington Jr.; as well as his extended family members, including siblings-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
John served as the Right-of-Way Manager for the St. Louis County Department of Transportation and was employed with St. Louis County for 39 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and fitness enthusiast known for his friendly nature and ability to connect with others. His family finds comfort in knowing his legacy lives on through the life lessons he taught, the love he showed through his actions, and the memories they will cherish forever.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Paul Catholic Church, 15 Forest Knoll Drive, Fenton, MO 63026 on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. followed by lunch at The Post Sports Bar & Grill in Dierbergs Crossing.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Shriners Children’s Hospital St. Louis.
