Linda Hicks was born Linda Lou Colston on May 7, 1940 in Cardwell, MO. and passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025 at her home in St. Louis, MO. age 85 surrounded by family.
She was preceded in death by her doting parents, William Lawrence Colston and Esther Jewel Colston (nee McFarland).
After graduating from McKinley HS in 1958, Linda Married George W. Hicks on May 9, 1959 in St. Louis, MO. at Riverside Church of Christ. They enjoyed 66 beautiful years of marriage before he called her home.
Linda was the mother of four children – Terri Pyles, Kenneth Hicks (Saundra Champlin), Sherri Woods (Gary), and Karen Hartmann (Randy), grandmother to Stephanie, Alex, Kyle (Ashley), Elizabeth (Josh), Emily (Austin), Erin (Christian), Curtis, Matthew (Lydia), Alyson (Ben), great-grandmother to Jason, Ethan, Olivia, Cadence, Jade, Jordan, Evelyn, Caleb, Ella, Canaan, Jackson, Carter and Audrey.
Her life revolved around her family. Linda was an only child but grew up with cousins that were more like siblings. When she became a mother herself, she opened her heart and doors to her kids’ friends who loved her back. Her house was loud, chaotic, happy, busy, and full of laughter at all hours of the day and night.
Linda had other pleasures that colored her life – sewing, reading, Elvis, fried catfish, paintings by Money, endless Hallmark movies and dessert.
Linda will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her, and she went home to her Lord knowing how much she was loved.
Service: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel (5255 Lemay Ferry Road) Monday, November 17, 2025 from 11:00 AM until service at 12:00 PM. Interment Shepherd Hills Cemetery.
