Katherine “Kathy” L Ferguson (nee Spirgen) of St Louis, MO, formerly of Blackwell, MO, Washington County, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age of 83.
Born to the late Walter and Nita Spirgen, Kathy was married for 50 years to the late Charley R Ferguson, a proud United States Air Force veteran, with whom she shared a life built on hard work, loyalty, and quiet determination. Both born and raised in Arkansas, they carried those roots with them as they built their family and future together.
She is survived by her children Douglas Ferguson and Patricia (Ken) Kelsay. She was a grandmother to Tetrina (David Uribe) Kauffmann and is preceded in death by her beloved grandson Joseph K Kauffmann. She is remembered with love by extended family, friends and all who crossed paths with her throughout her long life.
Kathy took great pride in her work. As the owner of Three Fountains Beauty Salon in Crestwood, MO, she built a reputation as a skilled and trusted beautician serving her community. In her later years, she and Charley partnered together to build and operate Trails End Concessions, a successful food concessions business that became a testament to their shared work ethic, entrepreneurial spirt and enduring partnership.
Her family is grateful for the compassionate care she received in her final chapter, and for the many people who helped ensure she was safe, comfortable, and treated with dignity.
A private gathering will be held at a later date to honor her life.
