Janet Viermann

In Loving Memory

Viermann, Janet Marie

March 14, 1945 - May 28, 2026

Janet Marie Hardwick Viermann, 81, was a lifetime resident of St. Louis, Missouri before passing to heaven on May 28th.

Janet was born on March 14, 1945, to Benton Hardwick and Elvera Wuest Hardwick. Their youngest daughter and the baby sister to Marlene Schulte of St. Louis whom she is survived by.  She attended Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic grade school and was a proud graduate of Notre Dame High School. She was a supporter of their mission throughout her life. A true Rebel!

Janet married Charles in 1979, and they recently celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary.  They thoroughly enjoyed travelling together. Their younger years accounted for annual trips to Colorado. The Rocky Mountains were a significant sight to behold for the couple. As she grew older, she decided to begin travelling east towards Disneyworld. Janet, Charles, and family enjoyed the magic on many trips together.

Janet and Charles were wonderful parents to many pets over the years. She joins her beloved pets: Maggie, Max, Lizzie, and many others. She will be missed by their current dogs, Kate and Buddie who hold a special place in their hearts.

Motherhood was near and dear to her heart. She always said that raising children (and helping with grandchildren and great grandchildren) was her greatest accomplishment. She was mother of the year, every year, in her children’s eyes.

Janet will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.  She had a special way of encouraging and supporting others.  She was both witty and wise.  She was an excellent cook, baker, gardener, poet, and lover of all animals.  Janet’s unique gift was making every holiday, birthday, graduation, or special occasion a day to remember! Her beautifully decorated cookies and cakes were the hallmark of the events.  She baked with love which was so evident in all the intricate details she included.

Janet is survived by her husband Charles Viermann and their children: Kellie (Scott) Viermann- Stults, Christina (Thomas) Trares, Jill (Gregg) Crain, and Matthew John Sr. (Sarah) Lanzone. Her legacy includes grandchildren Justin Stults, Alec Heitert, Zachary (Jessica) Claus, Mandy (Aaron) McLeod, Justin Crain, Morgan (Justin) Flynn, Emma Jones, Summer (Blake) Brown, Gabrielle Crain, Matthew John Jr. Lanzone, and Sophia Elizabeth Lanzone. Her great-grandchildren include: Ava, Raylin, Landon, Jackson, Willow, Sailor, Cooper, and Colton.
