Age 75 of St. Louis, Missouri, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, with his cherished wife and soulmate of 46 years by his side.
Born on July 30, 1950, James was the son of the late James Wesley Sturgell Sr and Lavanda Sturgell.
James proudly served in the United States Army, in the Vietnam War. He represented a profound commitment to duty, honor, and sacrifice.
He is survived by his devoted wife Maggie McGinnis, and his loving family and friends.
Services: Visitation at Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Wednesday August 5th, 10:30 AM until service at 11:30 AM. Interment JB National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled American Veterans or a local veterans’ support charity
