Fortified with the sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years Maryalice (nee Klotz). Dearest father of Barbara (Jim) Boehm, Joan (Rob) Fischer, Marie (Dan) Scher and Jim (Deidre) Lutkewitte. Loving Grandfather to Claire, Grace, Jacob, Allison, Maggie, Ed, Nora, Ruth, and Grant. Dear uncle, cousin and friend to many.
Anyone that knew Jim heard one of his famous tidbits of advice, some were funny, others more serious. His whole life he knew what was most important: faith, family, and friends. “If you don’t have your faith, you’ve got nothing at all.” He was an imperfect Catholic that knew the importance of practicing your faith and serving others. He volunteered at his parish while raising four kids and out in the community during his retirement: KDHX, Missouri Botanical Garden, The National Blues Museum and Feed My People. His proudest accomplishment was sending all of his children to Catholic schools establishing a firm foundation. “A Catholic education is worth every penny.”
Jim was an adventurer. He loved traveling with family and friends exploring the natural world around him and attempting to communicate with wildlife. He was often heard making his Tarzan calls when the feeling arose. He was lucky enough to travel around the world and believed that “everyone needs a trip or two to look forward to.” He was a big kid. “You’re never too old to have some fun.” He was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and lover of Blues music. He was a stubborn German that kept a tight schedule of “tini” time at 4:30 with Jeopardy followed by supper. His wish for everyone is to “keep having fun!”

Services: Funeral mass at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 4900 Ringer Rd., on Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10 am. Visitation will be at church from 9-10 am before mass.

Jim was a great guy to have gotten to know at St. Francis through our daughter Lori and Marie at school and playing sports. Jim and MaryAlice were special people.
