Gregory, Hon. Ellis, Jr.of St. Louis, passed away Saturday morning,August 12, 2017, at Mercy Hospital after a two month illness.

Judge Gregory was born on May 5, 1927. in St. Louis to Ellis and Aphrodite (nee Constantin)  Gregory.  After graduating from Beaumont High School, and at the age of 17, Judge Gregory enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps on April 13, 1945.  Private 1st Class Gregory, was Honorably Discharged in August of 1946, at which time he began his Undergraduate  Degree at the University of Missouri – Columbia. He then earned his Law Degree from Washington University in St. Louis. Judge Gregory practiced law in his own firm for 24 years, before being  appointed Assoc. Circuit Court Judge, by then Gov. Joseph  Teasdale.  Judge Gregory remained on the bench from 1978 – 1997, at which time he retired, per state law, only to be            re-appointed to remain a senior judge for the State of Missouri.  Judge Gregory remained on the bench until he was 85.

Judge Gregory was a Master Mason with the Algabil-Freedon Lodge where he was a 60 year member.  He was a longtime member of the Order of the Ahepa – Chapter #53, a 46 year member of the American Legion – Post 0422, a member of the Moolah Temple and a Shriner.

Judge Gregory is survived by his wife of 64 years, Shirley (nee Lorantos); his daughter Carolyn (Jere) Reed; his granddaughter Stacy N. Reed; his  great grandson Adam; his sister Helen (Paul) Leara; nephews, nieces, cousins and Godchildren.

Services: Funeral from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd., Wednesday August 16, 10:30 am to Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Town and Country for 11:30 am Service.  Interment with Military Honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.

Donations may be made to the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church or the Humane Society of Missouri.

Visitation Tuesday August 15, 3:00 – 8:00 pm with Trisagion Service at 7:00 pm.[]
