Jennings

In Loving Memory

Jennings, Harry Jr.

October 12, 1931 - September 20, 2023

Harry Jennings Jr., 91, passed away September 20, 2023. Harry was a loving husband and father of two.

Harry was born in New London, Ohio and grew up in Traverse City, MI. He was a veteran and served during the Korean War at Fort Riley, KS. He was an architect practicing in St. Louis for many years. He was a founding member of Saint Philip’s United Church of Christ in South St. Louis County and remained active in the church throughout his life. He sang in the choir and portrayed Santa Claus for the children at Christmas services. He was an avid reader, game player, pool shark, camper, fisherman and loved to be in his yard pruning trees. He was happiest in the home he provided for his loved ones. He will be remembered as perpetually happy, gregarious and funny, sometimes intentionally. We will continue to “Deck the Halls with Mostaccioli” at Christmas time.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Shirley Ann Jennings (Stucki), sons, Matthew Jennings and wife Amy (Simons), Michael Jennings and wife Michele (Harr), 5 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and brother-in-law James Stucki.

A service will be held on Friday October 13, 2023, 11:00am at Saint Philip’s United Church of Christ, 10708 Lavinia Dr., Affton, MO 63123, followed by burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 1:30pm.

The family requests donations to St. Philip’s United Church of Christ or, Friends of the St. Louis Zoo, in lieu of flowers.
