Mrosek, Eloise Marie

November 7, 1924 – October 23, 2023. It is with sadness and hope with promise of new life that we inform you of the passing of our beloved mother, Eloise Marie Mrosek, who passed away at St. Luke’s South Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

She was one month shy of her 99th birthday. Eloise was born in St. Louis MO, on November 7, 1924 to Joseph and Theresa Horn (nee Frey). She graduated from St. Mark’s Academy in 1942. At St. Mark’s Academy she excelling in sports, particularly tennis and ice skating, being a member of the Silver Skates. During the winter you would find her on the ice skating rink and during summer, on the tennis courts. Eloise attended one semester at Washington University studying art and accounting.

In 1948, she married Theodore Mrosek Jr., he was a salesman for Lever Brother’s and later Zep Chemical Company. Ted was also active in real estate and together they formed Mrosek Construction Company, where Eloise was the chief accountant. Ted was also very active in tennis and ice skating being a speed skater for St. Louis Athletics. Together they were active in sports, work, travel and raising a family. They were together until Ted’s death in 2003. Eloise was also sorrowfully preceded in death by her son Richard, in 2008. Eloise is survived by Deborah (Don) Lolli, and Denise Strickler. Loving grandmother of Christina (Tim) Dunn, Joanna (Sean) Devereaux, Anthony (Heather) Lolli, and Lauren (Tyler) Spore and great-grandmother to Eloise (8), Connor (6), Theodore (4), Cecilia (4), Anna (2), and Samuel (1). GG Eloise, the granddame of the family, north, south, east and west with her big smile and mischievous nature and infectious laughter will be sorely missed.

Services: Visitation will be at Kutis Affton Chapel, 10151 Gravois Rd., Sunday, October 29th from 4-6 p.m. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Redeemer Church on Monday, October 30th, at 10:30 a.m., 341 East Lockwood, Webster Groves. Following Mass, Eloise will arrive for final prayers at Resurrection Cemetery Chapel. Charitable contributions can be made in her name at Holy Redeemer Church or the Red Cross.
