Ramona M. Oberlohr (Harrell) was born August 27th, 1937, in Louisville, Illinois, to Hubert V. & Margaret S. Harrell (Hortenstine) She departed this earth November 25, 2023, in Cuba, Missouri, at the age of 86 years old.
Ramona, or “Mona” as she was known to some of her family, graduated from Southwest High School in St. Louis, Missouri. She retired from Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company and then retired a second time from Carboline.
Mona was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, and dear friend of many. She attended and loved her church family at Bethel Christian Church of Louisville, IL. She loved antique shopping, playing cards and board games, baking, creating meals, decorating her century owned family farm, traveling to new places, but most of all, she loved her family and making memories. She was a talented painter who sold and shared her paintings with many.
Ramona was preceded in death by her parents: Hubert Harrell & Margaret Coplin, her sisters: Rosalie Williams & Louise Dodd, her husband Billy Smith, her precious son, Vincent Oberlohr and grandson, Mark Palmer.
Those left to treasure her memory are her beloved daughter Cynthia Crawford (Mike Turnbough) of Viburnum, MO; her beloved daughter in law Deborah Oberlohr of St Louis, MO. and her daughter Suzanne Ballard of Effingham, IL. Her grandchildren: Sarah (Rich) Matlock of Effingham, IL, Heather (C W) Permenter of Nixa, MO, Kevin (Chelsea) Clark of Louisville, IL, Kayla (Lucas) Chitwood of Union, MO, Christopher (Hannah) Oberlohr, Ryan (Kaitlyn) Oberlohr of St Louis, MO Jacob Ball, Albert Brinkmann III, Nick (Wendy) Brinkmann, all of Crawford County Missouri. 23 Great Grandchildren.
Visitation for Ramona are being held at Kutis Funeral Home in Affton, MO on Wednesday, November 29, 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. Service Thursday, November 30, 10:00 a.m. Interment Oskaloosa Cemetery in Xenia, Illinois at 1:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be given to the Dementia Society of America, PO BOX 600, Doylestown, PA 18901.   https://www.dementiasociety.org/.
