Vanh Khammanivong

Vanh Khammanivong was born on February 2, 1927 in Laos. She married the love of her life, Somdy in 1945. They traveled to the U.S. with their 3 sons in 1981.  Vanh was a childcare provider, managing her own daycare and loved children with her whole heart.  She enjoyed cooking for her family, fishing & camping.  She passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2024 surrounded by her family and loved ones. She is survived by 2 sons and a daughter-in-law: Pheng (Chanh) Khammanivong of St. Louis, MO Tammy (Jarman) Khammanivong & Somchay (Sam) Khammanivong all of Granite City, IL. Also surviving are her grandchildren Khompone, Nok, Michael (Kelsey), Heather (Joey), Brandon (Kari), Tiffany (Dylan), Alexis (James) as, Bellah, Scottie, Hayden  & Hunter.  She has 11 great grandchildren (Landen, Kaysen, Austin, Brennor, Elias, Jude, Ayla, Ava Mae, Aryanna, Aliyah & Arabella). She was preceded in death by her husband Somdy, who passed in 2009 and a son Khamphanh (Super) Khammanivong, who passed in 2019. She created a beautiful, blended family filled with love that included Kanh/Kenny (Sherry) Phouangmalay (Carrie, Kayla & Kyle), Somchanh (Kethsamone) Maniphonh (Manivanh (Ba Boo) Samuel & husband James Samuel III, Siblings – Sysomphone (Lay) Maniphonh & wife Debbie Maniphonh, Shophaphanh (Bee) Maniphonh & husband Ae Rajaphoumy, Sangsouriyanh (Boy) Maniphonh & wife Jackie Nguyen).

Services: Visitation will be held at the KUTIS CITY CHAPEL, 2906 Gravois Ave. 63118, on Saturday, November 2, from 11 a.m. until time of service at 12 p.m., Interment Our Redeemer Cemetery.
