Sharon Elaine Ciaramitaro passed away on June 23, 2026 at home in St. Louis, MO after recently celebrating her 80th birthday. Since experiencing illness a couple of years ago she has been living with her loving son, John Ciaramitaro and his partner Tina Tucker with their faithful companion Trooper.
Sharon was born in Emboden, MO, now known as Middlebrook, MO. which is lovingly referred to as ‘the country’. She will be buried in the family cemetery with her mother Ethel Mae Fitzgerald, and father Paul McIntyre.
Sharon was a wife, friend, daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and great-grand mother. Her roles in the family read like accomplishments because that’s her legacy. She was known as “Mom” and welcomed everyone into her family. Her death was preceded by her husband John J Ciaramitaro Jr., who she loved tremendously. When he got sick, she took care of him for years, as steadfastly loyal a partner as one could dream of.
When you came home, you would find Sharon sitting in her kitchen chair, with one of her small dogs by her side. She would sit for hours enjoying the birds outside her window, drinking coffee, or working on any number of crafts.
Her friends and family received carefully crafted holiday and birthday cards. Sharon made sure to make everyone in her life feel special. Especially in recent years, getting photos and videos from loved ones was always a highlight of her day.
When she worked on the Post-Dispatch crossword, she wrote in pen, caring more about enjoying the puzzle than making mistakes. This was true to her nature, as Sharon lived honestly, and true to herself.
