Beloved husband of Janice Follmer (nee Miget); loving father of Shannon (Joe) Vogel, Cindy Kountzman (Brian Bunch), and Robyn Counts; dear step-father of Michelle (Matt) Penrod, Robert (Nicki) Miller, and Donnie Ann Koser; cherished grandfather of Connor Vogel, Celia Vogel, Camille Vogel, Matthew (Taylor) Counts, Anna Counts, Brett Counts, Bryce Penrod, Sydney Penrod, Colby Penrod, Jaxon Miller, and Brooklyn Miller; proud great-grandfather to Wren Martin Counts born on his birthday, March 14, 2022. Preceded in death by his parents Jospeh and Audrey Follmer, brother Donald Follmer and loving wife JoAnn Follmer.

Gary was a proud veteran of the United States Army and member of Meramec Arnold Elks #2372. Gary enjoyed visiting with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing (especially with his cousin Joe) and riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. He also enjoyed hot rod cars, classic cars and car shows. He loved the outdoors and watching wildlife and nature.

Services: Funeral at KUTIS SOUTH COUNTY CHAPEL 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd., Monday, April 4, at 11:30 a.m. Interment Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery. Visitation Sunday 4-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher House Foundation.

We are grateful for the a memorial contribution made by the Vogel Family in honor of Mr. Follmer and his service to the USA. We are honored to be able to serve Veteran’s families with these funds.
