Gewinner, Edwina A. (nee VanderPluym) Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Friday, March 6, 2026 at the age of 96.

Beloved wife for 57 years of the late John F. Gewinner; loving mother of Steve (Barbara) Gewinner, Tom (Diane) Gewinner, Jim (Cindy) Gewinner, the late John Gewinner, Kathy (Jerry) Tovo, Paul (Dee Dee) Gewinner; Grandmother to Elizabeth, Lauren (Matthew), Matt, Ryan (Ashley), Andrew (Jane), Jack, Kyle Gewinner, Jerry Jr. and Jim Tovo.

Great Grandmother of Claire, Noah, Elijah, Sam and Eli.

Daughter of the late Edward and Katherine VanderPluym; Sister to the late Dorothy (Dale) Wernig, Marge (Wally) Hoock, Edward “Bud” VanderPluym. Cherished sister-in-law, aunt and friend.

Eddie lived in St. Louis Hills for 81 years, often telling stories about what the area was like when it was being developed. She attended Saint Gabriel’s Grade School and then sent her children there. She enjoyed playing golf with the St. Louis Women’s Golf Association and even got a hole in one. Eddie and her husband were regulars at Pietro’s Restaurant. She loved to take yearly trips with her husband to Hilton Head and the beaches in Florida and St. Thomas. Eddie became a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs even though she knew nothing about football. Sometimes cheering the hardest during the instant replay. She loved playing cards with family and friends and always had a smile on her face. Eddie really enjoyed just spending time with the family.

Services: Visitation at Kutis South County Chapel 5255 Lemay Ferry Rd. 63129 on Wednesday, March 11 from 8:00 am until Prayer Service at 9:00 am. to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church for 9:30 am. Mass. Interment JB National Cemetery.
