  1. He is the first good man that I have ever known. He is incredibly loving and selfless, and has such a kind heart. My grandma loved him, but he didn’t just show love towards only her. He has still treated my family as though we were his own. He didn’t just treat my grandma as a princess, he treated all of us like we meant something to him. He wanted to show us that life shouldn’t be full of hardships.

I was on vacation when he was in hospice and when he passed, and the last time I saw him was when I was still too young and stupid to fully understand the integrity of this man. He loaned us our first home when our family was starting, of which I have fond memories. He took us on vacations when we ourselves couldn’t necessarily afford it, all because he can, and I know I’m not blood, but I like to think that he passed knowing I will be fine and had time for leisure. That we were both looking at paradise- Earthly and heavenly- and everything will be fine.

He’s a once in a lifetime man. We should all follow in his footsteps and pay it forward.
Thank you, and I love you, Papa Kent.

  2. I will always remember Uncle Kent, and really enjoyed working for him building a road in southern Missouri after my freshman year in college back in 1975.
