Heisserer-Theon

In Loving Memory

Heisserer, Theon “T.S.” Simon

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church on Wednesday, December 28, 2022.

Beloved husband of the late Madina “Dena” Heisserer (nee Koch); dearest father of James David (Pat) Heisserer and Debbie (Rich) Kinard; dear grandpa of Jonathan, Jeremy (Kelsey) Heisserer, Sadie and Hanna Kinard; great-grandpa, “Gramps” of Ella, Owen, Ashton and Raya; brother of the late Theodore Heisserer, Coletta Dannenmueller, Corene Moellenhoff, Lawrence, Andy, Jerome Heisserer, Marcella Pernell, Laverne Hartley and Sylvester Heisserer; our dear uncle, cousin and friend of many.

Theon “T.S.” was born in 1924 and is part of an era that has been referred to as the “Greatest Generation.” He was a WWII army veteran who had lived 98 years, and continually brought joy to all those around him.  He was so proud of his grandkids and spending time with family. Lately when he didn’t feel well, whenever a grandkid or great grandkid would visit, he would perk up and get in a good mood and have a continuous smile. Theon was known as a “music man” as he enjoyed listening to country and gospel music, but also with his singing and playing many instruments, specifically the guitar, piano, harmonica and even the kazoo. He lived in an independent retirement community and until a few weeks prior to his death, he played music weekly at his Community Center for his many friends who lived there as well as his other friends who would come to listen and dance while he played his music. Besides music, his other passion was dancing, and he was known for “twirling” the ladies while dancing a waltz. Up until 2020, he was dancing 2-3 days a week. He was part of several music groups, including Theon’s Troubadours, the Sunshine Gospel Group and the Gateway Harmonica Club.  He was also a #1 fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball.

Funeral Saturday, December 31, final viewing 9:00-9:30 a.m. from KUTIS AFFTON CHAPEL, 10151 Gravois Rd. to St. Mark Catholic Church, 4220 Ripa Ave. for a 10:00 a.m. MASS.  Interment Resurrection Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Missouri Baptist Healthcare Foundation, 3015 North Ballas Rd. (63131) Please specify Cardiovascular Recovery Fund or Rehab Fund. (314) 996-5054 or missouribaptist.org. Visitation Friday 4:00 – 8:00 p.m.

  1. I only knew Theon for a few months when I moved into the apartment next to his. In these few months I have learned what a special man he is. Very charismatic and charming. He led a very full and interesting life. Enjoyed the few stories told to me and his music Great sense of humor and he had quite the fan club in our community. One day when he fell and scraped his leg there were 6 of us women neighbors in his apartment hovering to make sure he was ok. He will be so missed but remembered with fond memories. RIP TS

  3. I grew up in the same neighborhood with Mr. Heisserer. Recently, I came in contact with Mr. Heisserer’s son Jim, and our paths crossed. I was very sorry to hear of Theon’s death. Unfortunately, I was unable to come to the visitation or the funeral that is today. My thoughts and prayers and condolences go out to the entire Heisserer family at this difficult time.
