Lazzareschi, Clyde R.

Born February 11, 1941, a man of deep Christian faith and unwavering love of Jesus, was called to his heavenly home on December 2, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 62 years, Josie Lazzareschi (nee LaMonica); his loving son Michael (Jo Anne) Lazzareschi and daughter Christine (Jeff) Gould; and his cherished grandchildren Luca, Shelby, and Vivian. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Attilio and Margarite Lazzareschi, and his siblings Lorraine, Julius, and Bruno. Born in Chicago, Clyde moved with his family to St. Louis at age two, settling near the historic Hill neighborhood. A lifelong scholar with an insatiable passion for learning, he earned his master’s degree in engineering from Washington University in St. Louis and devoted his entire career to Boeing. In addition, he studied to become an officially licensed Electrician. His intellectual curiosity knew no bounds — he amassed an extensive personal library and could often be found at the public library, researching diverse subjects and keeping meticulous notes on everything that captured his interest. In his younger years, he enjoyed playing tennis, and his interest in real estate led him to study and earn his real estate license. Clyde’s thirst for knowledge extended to holistic medicine and nutrition, which he studied diligently to better care for himself and his loved ones. But it was his faith that truly defined him. He spent countless hours studying Scripture and in prayer, believing every word of the Bible was divinely inspired for our guidance, healing and growth. He joyfully shared his faith with everyone he encountered and felt a particular calling to minister to the homeless and those suffering from mental illness. He devoted his spare time to visiting them, bringing worship music and gospel messages on tape to offer comfort and hope. Generous with both his time and resources, Clyde collected clothing, books, and stereos to give to anyone in need. He believed deeply in the power of prayer and was a faithful participant in regular prayer groups, often dedicating himself to fasting as an expression of his devotion. Clyde’s legacy is one of faith, compassion, loyalty, learning, and service — a life lived in pursuit of knowledge and in humble service to God and others. Services: Visitation will be held at Kutis Affton Chapel on Friday, December 12th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will take place at Kutis Affton Chapel on Saturday, December 13th at 10:30 AM, followed by interment at St. Paul Churchyard.
