  1. You were the closest thing I ever had to a grandpa. I looked up to you a lot in my younger years when I got to be around you. You would always let me watch you draft in the basement, sit in your lap when you drove the Bobcat, let me ride in the front seat of your Bronco. You and Grandma showed me so much love as a youngster, the gifts at Christmas (things I needed), showing me your trains around the Christmas Tree, (Loved your trains), showed me and talked about your gun collection after I got home from the Marines. I get those feelings back now of that time. You provided me with some great memories.

You were a mans man, a hard worker, a successful caring and stern human. I loved your smile Elmo. I didn’t see much of you and Grandma bc of the circumstances much, then I left for the Marines, now I have just lived far away. I lead a successful, happy, productive life and you were the first man that showed me what success looked like.

Much Love Grandpa & Thank You for setting me straight early on.

  3. I want the family to know we live in a home that Elmo built in the Hagemann Crossing Subdivision. A neighbor informed us that with each home Elmo built in our subdivision, he created and made a unique wood mantle. Also in each of his houses, he built a coffered design in the dining room for the light. It was kind of his “calling card,” as well as the mantles. Also he crafted the spindles on the stairs for each home. He was a very talented man. It’s comforting to know we each have a great design in our homes to remember him by. He was also our friend and longtime neighbor. He will be missed.
