Mirko Tomas passed away unexpectedly in his sleep on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2022 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Ljubica Tomas (nee: Radovanovic). Dear father of Tihana (Brent) Stille and Tina (Robert) Thompson. Dear grandfather of Carter Thompson. Dear brother of Anda and Ruza. Dear companion of the late Mickey.
Mr. Tomas was a longtime employee of Peace Haven.
Our lives will never be the same without him. He sacrificed everything to give us a better life. He was hardworking, caring, happy and always wanted to help anyone. He loved nothing more but to spend time with his family, friends and work on his garden. He will be missed by us all especially his favorite little man Carter.
SERVICES: Funeral funeral from Kutis Affton Chapel 10151 Gravois Road 63123 on Saturday, December 31, 9:00 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Tomas family, to help with funeral expenses, are appreciated. Visitation on Friday 30. December, 4-8pm.

Much love to the Tomas family. I’ll miss Mirko’s smile, his love for everyone, and his sense of humor. Every time we got on the elevator, one of us would ask for the 3rd floor (there are only 2 floors in the building!). Mirko gave us candy, always saying, “For you!” He is in my heart always. I am so saddened by the passing of Cika Mirko. He was the kindest most sweetest man, husband, and father to my friends Tina and Tihana. I met Cika Mirko when I was 11 years old, time when I met Tina and Tihana. I soon saw that Tina my friend and his youngest daughter was the “apple of his eye” I loved their bond and always thought he was the most coolest dad. I loved their family pictures from Germany and videos that Tina would show me. Mirko had his leather jacket and long hair which I thought was so cool and he was always smiling with his wife and kids. He treated me so kindly just like his own child, when I would be at his home. He always made me feel welcome and went out of his way to make sure I felt comfortable (asking me if I’m hungry, hot or cold) I am also happy that he met both of my daughters which he adored and I will never forget how he always told my girls to give “mommy a break” he was so funny and fun, he literally would play with my kids while I visited with Tina at his home. As a kid I always liked to go toTina’s house maybe a little too much, but especially At Christmas because Cika Mirko and Teta Ljubica his wife would make such good food and have music on and I just loved their fun Christmas spirit that would bring all of us friends together. There are so many good things I can say about this kind man but I will end this note with saying that he will always be remembered by my family and I.Rest in Heaven. -Alma Bander

I am deeply saddened by the passing of this great and wonderful man! I had the privilege of working with and seeing this kind, loving, happy, and gentle man on a daily basis! He was always smiling and laughing. I loved calling him, “Grandpa” after his grandbaby was born. This always made his face light up and prompted a hearty laugh! He loved showing pictures of that precious child. In the summers he freely shared the fruits of his garden. One thing I loved and miss already is hearing him sing when he worked and washed dishes! I miss his presence and the wonderful qualities he expressed. Sending so much love to the Tomas family during this difficult time!

Mirko was so kind and sweet – always sharing a smile or laugh. He was so proud of his grandson and loved showing pictures to us. Recently, I was eating a cold sandwich on the late shift, and he insisted that I take a hot sandwich from his tray. He loved everyone around him, and his light shined so bright. We will miss him.

To the Tomas Family: Mirko was a wonderful team player. His smile was contagious. He and I would goof around at meal time and dance to the music on the CD player and have a lot of fun entertaining the residents with our dance moves. Will miss him terribly. .

I did spend every mu winter and summer holidays with my Uncle home in Bos.Luzani along with another Uncle Jure and Grandmother Iva and that time was one of best in my life!
